INSTRUCTIONS
Exercise 1: Quantifying Data
For this exercise, Ms. Anis has provided us some stuff to use. We can
either choose from Lego Blocks or colored buttons. For me, since the Lego
blocks have been taken, I have then decided to use the buttons given. I
chose a beige color one.
fig 1.1; Buttons organized;
I have roughly organized the buttons to the above. I organized them
according to the button holes, texture and some colors, since there's
quite some variety in the buttons.
fig 1.2; Moving buttons to paper and sorting them;
fig 1.3; Sorting them and giving them "house";
fig 1.4; Sorting them and giving them "house" 2;
I first started off by those quite obvious first and list them
down, only then I start to pay attention to the ones that are
quite difficult. I was supposed to design it when I went to campus
after finishing this step, however, I got sick and wasn't able to
go to campus and thus I can't design it anymore.

Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H Poster
For this exercise, we are required to create a poster by using L.A.T.C.H
principles and chosen data. I was planning to use other data instead,
however I couldn't find the images used for it and thus I go with what the
lecturers provided, Pokémon.
Visual Research
fig 1.7; Victoria Island Map; sauce: (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/16607092367484322/)
I start by looking up for some visual reference for the map part, since I
think that part would be hard. I found out I really like these 2 images
above since they showed the whole island and the colors they used isn't
complicated to the point people have a hard time looking at it. And thus,
I decide to go for something like this.
fig 1.9; Background of poster;
I decide to start by making the background first, and it will look like
the sea for the island I have chose, Sinnoh Island.
fig 2.0; The Island;
After that, I then created the Sinnoh Island by using the pen tool in
Illustrator.
fig 2.1; Elements for the poster;
There's a lot of mountain on the island, there's some ponds as well
and forest. The north part of the island is snowy.
After much thoughts, I then choose these 4 Pokemons as the ones I want
to use. There is Azuril and its evolution, Bagon and its evolution,
Starly and its evolution and Cleffa and its evolution.
fig 2.3; Elements and title;
Since they all came from different elements, I decide to put it in as
well.
The above is the outcome after combining them.

REFLECTION
I had some fun while doing both of these exercise since I have never really
done it before. And in both of these exercises, I can kinda understand how to
utilize the data given and what is important and what is not. Although it is
kinda sad that I couldn't further improve my exercise 1 due to some reasons, I
still feel like I learned something from it, as not only do we need to care
about the aesthetics of something, but also the data from it. For the second
exercise, I was quite disappointed that I wasn't able to use the data I wanted
but I think doing the Pokemon one is very fun as well!
