PROJECT 1: SOUND
Exercise 1: Audio Dubbing
In this exercise, we are to use the script provided by our lecturer, Mr.
Martin and record it using our own voice, then sync it with the clip that
was also provided by the lecturer. The clip is a short clip from the Disney
Movie "Soul". I first recorded myself speaking the voice lines from the
script then proceed to sync it in the Adobe Premier Pro.

Fig 1.2; Syncing;
After that I move all the voice recordings to the software along with
the clip provided. I then proceed to sync the clip with my recordings.
After that, I browse through the internet searching for some suitable
sound effects such as car passing by, ambience, leaf and tree rustle and
more. After much time spend on searching the most suitable ones, I also
inserted them into the clips as well.
I insert the sound effects accordingly. Next I decide to pitch shift
both the cat and the people talking to make it more real, as my voice
isn't that great and it isn't suitable as well. I do this using the
pitch shifter effect.
Final Exercise 1: Audio Dubbing

Exercise 2: Sound Shaping
In this exercise, we are to use the voice clips given by our lecturer, and make it into the way we wanted them to, for example, muffling the voice, or make the voice look like as if it's in the bathroom and more. Below is my progress:
Fig 1.6; Telephone Feels;
In this part, we have to make the voice clip sound like as if it's from the telephone. To do this, we have to use the effect Parametric Equalizer, which is from the software, Adobe Audition.
Fig 1.7; Muffled Voice;
In this, we have to muffled the voice. For this, it's actually pretty much the same from the telephone one, however, we have to change some of the settings instead.
Fig 1.8; Stadium Voice;
In this one, we have to make it seem like the girl is speaking in a large space, like a stadium. Compared to the telephone and muffled voice, we need to use reverb to do this. I used one of the presets, which is Resonant Room Modes, though I did also made some changes to it.
Fig 1.9; Bathroom;
In this one, we need to make it seem like the girl is speaking in a bathroom instead. The process is pretty much the same from the stadium one, however I decided to explore it a bit by changing both the presets and also the other settings.
Fig 2.0; Cave;
In this one, it is also the same, as we are to use reverb to make the girl seem like she's speaking in a cave. Above is my setting.
Exercise 3: Sound Design
In this exercise, we are to also use the clips provided to altered it.
Fig 2.1; Explosion;
In this one, we are to create a multitrack session, edit them and then place them here. Next, we need to go to the mixer part and altered them.
Fig 2.3; Punch;
Fig 2.4; Punch Mixer;
The same applies for the punch sound effect. To make it more real, I added full reverb, parametric equalizer and hard limiter.
The same goes to the sample voice one as well, we need to make the sample voice sound like either a monster or a alien.

REFLECTIONS
In these exercises, I feel quite happy and think that the exercises are quite fun as we are able to alter our own voices and also change how it sound like. It is completely different from when we first started it. The comparison, is really... wow. I feel like I have definitely learned a lot in these exercise as first of all, we started to use 2 new software which is Premier Pro and Audition. I have never used these 2 software before, so it took me longer to understand the functions and what needed to be done in order to make the things work the way I wanted them to. However, after browsing and watching so many tutorial vids and other information, I was able to finally get a hang of it and proceed to do the things that I needed to do. In brief, I feel quite happy that the module was able to teach me to use these software.
