RESEARCH
Since I'm from the UI/UX specialization, I'm in charge of designing the
website in Figma, I then start to look up a few interesting website
designs. I first searched up a few ways that could make our designs
interesting and good looking:
How to design a good-looking website: (sauce: Jotform)
- Keep your design balanced.
- Compartmentalize your design by using grids.
- Pick two or three base colors at most for your design.
- Try to make the graphics go well together.
- Improve your website’s typography.
- Make elements stand out by adding white space around them.
- Have all elements connected.

PROCESS
Task 2: Art Direction and Ideation
WEEK 4
On this week, we were much more focus on designing the logo as our clients
needs it, and also finalizing it will help us to design our other deliverables
as well. Below is some of our progression:
Fig 1.1; Logo Mood Board;
This is our logo mood board, since the clients requested the logo to be
minimalistic and playful, we searched up some reference logos that we thinks
matches the requirement. The idea is to combine
the environment and bamboo element to convey the brand name and the product
itself, Green Earth Movement.
Next, our group then held a short discussion on the deliverables. After some
time of discussion with our own and also with our client, we came up with
these:
- Website
- Promotional Video
- Poster
- Banner
- Packaging Design
With that done, we then started to continue on with our work. For
website, we decided on the pages that we need to design after some
discussion:
WEEK 5
On week 5, we continue on refining the logo and also starting to sketch out
the ideas for our deliverables and more.

For packaging Designs:

For animation, below is the storyboard:

We then further start to decide the other elements, such as typeface and
graphic elements.

WEEK 6
On week 6, we start to compile everything that we have done into a slide and
start to present it to our lecturer and clients.
FEEDBACK
WEEK 4
You might need to work faster on the logo since the business school needs
it. You guys also need to remember to keep the consistency of all your
designs, throughout all your deliverables.
WEEK 5
The logo needs to be more refined. You guys needs to sit down and discuss
the art direction together, and also decided on the other elements in
order to start the designs.
WEEK 6
It is good to have secondary colors for our clients to see. It's also nice
to show the typeface chosen with a specimen to show how the two typefaces
are going to look together. Logo is still in the process of refining, need
to work quickly on that. Graphic elements look interesting and have
potential, yet to see how they apply to our designs. The website is good
to have a side map as well, so we will be clear about what are we
designing. Generally is well organized, continue to work and communicate
with business school students.
NEXT COURSE OF ACTION
WEEK 4
- Further refine logo
- Solidify art direction
WEEK 5

REFLECTIONS
Experience:
For task 2, I felt that it's a little hard to have a clear direction on what needs to be done. At the same time, I also felt that in this task, our efficiency is low compare to task, this may be due to how the other members are trying to complete their assignments for other modules. I also felt that we may have lack a lot of communication when completing task 2 as we were only doing our own part and only discuss about it when needed. However, this would resulted in different opinions and the ideas are not what the other members expected. With that said, I felt that discussion between team members and discussion between our clients and us are very important, in order to solidify the idea and make sure that nothing goes wrong.
Observation:
I observed that I did not experiment and play around much when doing designs, no matter on logo or on website wireframes. Furthermore, I also realized that I need to quickly jot down the ideas that would suddenly pop into my mind so that I won't forget when I execute it.
Findings:
I found out that the team needs to be on constant update with each other so that we knew what is going on and what the other members are thinking. Furthermore, I realized that I need to searched more than just enough reference in order to help myself to have more designs and ideas.
